"What do you do when desire drives you to the very brink?
Someone wants the Native Americans off their sacred land. And when Navajo journalist Katherine James and park ranger Gabriel Rossiter team up to investigate why, their passion for the truth-and each other-makes them targets for those desperate enough to kill."
MY REVIEW:
Naked Edge by
Pamela Clare, the fourth installment in the I-Team companion series, was the
most emotional story in the series so far.
Katherine’s passion and connection to her Native American culture was extremely touching. Although most of the Navajo shunned her for her mother's mistakes when she was a child, Katherine still feels passionate about her heritage and her beliefs. I really admired her drive to protect her culture. It was very obvious how much the land and the traditions meant to Kat.
The romance between Navajo
journalist Katherine James and park ranger Gabriel Rossiter was sweet and
heartfelt. Kate doesn’t want to be any man’s conquest; she is saving herself
for her soul mate, someone who shares her vision of marriage, children, and
happily ever after. Gabe thinks that happily ever after only happens in fairy
tales. He doesn’t have plans to ever get married; all he wants is no strings
attached sex. There is no doubt that Kat
and Gabe have sexual chemistry, but how can they be together when they want
completely different things? Read this novel to find out!
This novel was suspenseful, romantic, and passionate. Gabe
and Kat had a sweet romance and loads of sexual chemistry. Their relationship
struggles were realistic. Once you learn about each of their backgrounds, it is
easy to understand them and their choices.
It was extremely hard for me to put this novel down. When I
absolutely had to step away from the Kindle, I was still thinking about the
characters and their struggles. (I would really appreciate it if someone could
invent a waterproof Kindle so I would not have to put my Kindle down
EVER.)There was something that happened toward the end of this novel that I was
not expecting. At first, I wasn’t sure how I felt about this development, but
now that I am reflecting back on this story I understand that everything
happened just as it should. It was unexpected, but it kept the story realistic.
I gave Naked Edge by
Pamela Clare 4 STARS. This was another wonderful addition to the I-Team series.
I strongly recommend this novel and this series.
