"In 2184, fixing clocks for black market money is illegal, but sixteen-year-old Kally Bright does it anyway -- in her secret workshop under her kitchen. When she finds an unexpected surprise in the bottom of one of the clocks, she is propelled back in time to 18th century Scotland. While there, she lives and loves in ways that aren't allowed in her time. If only she could find a way to stay . . . "
MY REVIEW:
Sneaks by B.
Button was a really good time travel romance. One of my favorite things about
this novel was that it took place in the deep past and in the future. 18th
century Scotland and Chigo in 2184 (formerly Chicago, Illinois) were both
foreign, yet intriguing settings. Button did a remarkable job creating both
settings. I loved that she was able to draw a few similarities between these
two completely different times.
The dystopian world in this novel was utterly fascinating.
Button created a world where the government controls everything from music to
clothing to job placement to spouses; a time when freedom and choice no longer exist.
Although I found the dystopian setting more interesting, I enjoyed Kally’s
journey more in Scotland. 18th century Scotland was my great escape
because it was filled with all of the things I love – romance, adventure, and
suspense.
Sneaks had a
lovely, captivating storyline. I cannot go into detail about the storyline without
spoiling everything, but I can say that Sneaks
was a very good story with an extremely sweet romance. A few things came
together a little too easily toward the end of the novel, but I can’t complain too
much because I was extremely satisfied with the end product.
My only complaint about this novel is that the characters could have used a little more characterization and animation. I enjoyed the characters because they were likeable, but I wish they would have come to life more for me.

I gave Sneaks by B. Button 3 STARS (3.5 STARS). If
you enjoy time travel novels then you should definitely check this one out.
