So, I just finished Lengths by Steph Campbell and Liz Reinhardt and I have a huge cheesy grin on my face.
I seriously can't stop smiling.
Lengths is a fun, sexy novel about finding yourself, falling in love, and letting go. Told in Whit and Deo's alternating perspectives, Lengths is a heartwarming contemporary romance novel for mature young adults. In my opinion, Lengths has the perfect mix of fun, hot, and serious.
At the beginning of this novel, Whit and Deo are both struggling in their own ways. Whit is running from her past, trying to make a fresh start on her own. She's coping with a huge loss and is burdened with guilt. She is trying to reinvent herself and trying to find herself at the same time. Deo is just a kite flying in the wind. He doesn't really have any direction or drive. But what he lacks in ambition he certainly makes up for in other areas, like with his good looks, charm, and sex appeal.
On the night before his twenty-second birthday, Deo meets Whit for the first time. Whit has walls. Lots of walls. But Deo is drawn to her. He wants her. Whit wants him too, but she can't really build a future with anyone until she deals with her past.
Lengths is a sweet story about letting go, opening your heart, and falling in love. It's about the magic of friendships and how a great friendship can lead to more.
